WordPress plugins are a functional part of many WordPress websites. WooCommerce, a WordPress plugin, is the number one e-commerce plugin used by thousands of sites. Adding e-commerce functionality to your site is a must for any online business.
However, e-commerce is not the only functionality you may want to add to your site. Social media functionality is another option for your website. It all depends on what you want to achieve with your website. Needless to say, if you require a feature or function on your site, there is most likely a plugin that will provide that feature or function.
My go-to source for premium plugins is the envato.com marketplace. You name it, they have it. That said, there are plenty of premium plugins outside the Envato marketplace that may be a better option than those that can be found on the Envato marketplace. To keep things simple, I’ll give an example of a plugin that may seem expensive at first glance.
FS-Poster, available on the Envato marketplace, costs $45 for a lifetime licence with updates. $45 may seem like a lot for one plugin, but consider the functionality that it brings to your site. You will soon see the benefits and savings available.
Plugins can replace services that you may have to pay for separately. In this example, FS-Poster can replace services like Sprout Social, Hootsuite and Buffer.
Which have pricing ranging from $0 to $15+ monthly, with the plans not offering the functionality of FS-Poster. Not including the $0 monthly plan from Buffer, which offers one user, three social channels, and 10 posts per month. The cheapest plan is $15 per month. That’s $180 per year.
Which is $135 more than FS-Poster over one year with an additional $180 added each year thereafter, $315 over 2 years, $495 over 3 years, and so on. The point I’m trying to make is that when building a website, decide what functionality and features you would like your website to offer. So in the long run, you could save yourself a lot of time and money.
